PROGRAM

65 Plus Services offers the following services to its members as part of its program itinerary:

Activities. Here at 65 Plus, you might say that we offer something for everyone. That is, we present a variety of fun and stimulating activities such as cards, cooking, concerts, dinner parties, discussion groups, gardening, films, & and sports: golf, ping pong, tennis, & walking, to name but a few.

Boating Excursions & Parades. A longtime boat owner and boat parade organizer, Lowell Safier, has much experience and knowledge in arranging for boating events that are fun for everyone. Among the treats which 65 plus will offer is a Catalina Ship Cruise, and a visit with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Care Giving. We offer classes which educate attendees about senior care giving needs, and how to find the right type of caregiver for an individual's particular needs. We offer referrals to experienced and well-regarded senior caregivers to those in need of caregiving. These referrals include such caregivers who are 65 Plus members.

Counseling For Healing. We offer compassionate and caring counseling to members in need of healing from hurt, grief, and trauma. The counseling will be provided by other members who are trained and licensed professionals. We will also offer referrals of highly recommended counselors to those in need of counseling.

Exercise Classes. Trained and experienced instructors teach exercises designed to lesson inflammation, physical discomfort, and improve joint mobility, thus enabling them to move about less painfully and more freely.

Family & Friendship: The Solution For Isolation. This program addresses the importance of seniors having a support system through family and friends so they are encouraged every day by others who care about them, and are not living life alone and feeling isolated and disconnected from others. Both professional experts and 65 Plus members will discuss this important topic, and offer solutions.

First Aid Made Easy. Here, we present experienced first aid responders and fire department members who teach those in attendance helpful first-aid tips for everyday living, such as fire prevention and CPR. Also included in this itinerary is what to do when facing such natural disasters as an earthquake.

Health & Nutrition Awareness. Experienced and credible licensed and practicing medical professionals and nutritionists will be on hand to offer good sound health and nutritional advice to members seeking to live a healthier life.

Housing Options. This program will introduce members seeking affordable housing, to the various options which are available to them, including ones they may not have been aware of until now. They will learn of these rental, sharing, and buying opportunities from their fellow members and from housing specialists.

Law Enforcement & Safety Awareness. These presentations will feature law enforcement experts who will share practical solutions about public safety and crime prevention. Those in attendance will learn simple ways in which they can better protect themselves, and how they can look out for one another through neighborhood Watch programs. Limousine & Group Travel. We offer this service to anyone needing transportation to any of our events such as a trip to Cabo San Luca. In addition, we offer these service to members needing medical appointment transportation.

Medical Needs. This service focuses on the medical needs of members. We connect them to the proper professionals who can help them with whatever needs they have including help in filling out Medicare and doctor's office paperwork, and drug prescription order and pick-up. We also feature licensed professionals who will inform them about important medical news updates they need to know which personally affect them.

Tax Preparation. We offer members referrals for experienced and reputable professional tax preparation specialists.

Pet Care & Companionship. Here, we feature nationally-known experts such as Warren Eckstein, radio host of "The Pet Show", who are well-versed in all areas of pets, who will share their expertise and helpful tips about pet care with those in attendance.

Service & Therapy Dogs. A dog owner with a vast therapy service background, Lowell shares his expertise and knowledge. This is very beneficial to those attendees needing a therapy dog. Depending on one's particular needs, Lowell's guest therapy speakers can offer helpful advice on just the right dog for that person. And we can refer them and their family members to a therapy program which can find just the right dog which is a good fit for them. (A photo of Lowell and his dog Uno can appear here).
